Research and Planning For the research and planning of my product the following technologies were used: Mac, Toshiba and a HP Photosmart all in one printer. For the Mac I used Pages, a word processing document to construct the written text in my research and planning. The textual analysis, secondary research and script for my radio advert was created by this software. The navigation around this software is incredibly easy and the tools provided make it easy to create documents very quickly.

Research and Planning Numbers and Keynote are also software applications that were very useful for my research and planning. Numbers is a spread sheet document which allowed me to process the data I collected into graphs and charts, making my results easy to describe and explain. I used the text tool to create the information The chart tool gives me a selection of bars and charts to use.

Research and Planning Keynote is a presentation software available on the Mac. Keynote was very useful in presenting useful research such as the history of energy drinks and the collation of my results. Keynote contains many features to enhance presentations like choosing backgrounds and inputting images and charts and graphs which can be edited without the use of Numbers.

Research and Planning Another software used with the Mac was Safari. Safari is a web browsing software that is suggested by Apple, the producers of the Mac. Safari, allowed me to visit websites such as YouTube to gain information for my primary research. Using the search engine Google also made it easier to find secondary information. Safari has many tools and properties however the most beneficial property which aided my research and planning was the innovative history view. The history view makes it easy to identify what I needed to revisit as it shows previews of the pages in a thumbnail size.

Research and Planning With the Toshiba, I managed to successfully upload the scan Hp Photosmart and save it onto my memory stick with ease. The software on the Toshiba which allowed my to upload my scans was Hp Photosmart essentials. This program allows me to obtain images from the hardware and edit them to my liking. Tools such as, colour balance and auto fix on Hp Photosmart essentials makes it easy to refine scans to ensure all texts and images are detailed and clear.

Construction and Development During the construction and development of my main and ancillary tasks, I used a range technological tools to ensure the project was easily completed whilst meeting the objectives of the assignment brief. Recording Footage In order to complete my media package, I had to record raw footage to which I would edit later. The HandyCam by Sony is a wonderful hardware that records in High definition. Accompanied with a high capacity hard drive all recordings are saved automatically and transferring footage is quick and effortless. Functions like the zoom in and out, flash, super steady shot and a spirit level made camera composition easy.

Editing Raw Footage Final cut Pro is a software application on the Mac designed to edit photos videos or audio. Final cut pro provides a range of tools that can transform raw footage into high quality work, using effects, transition and filters. I used a range of tools and effects to complete all my video work. Detailed information can be found in my Development Diaries

Creating Images Using a software application on the Mac, I created my energy drinks which are featured in my advertisements. Photoshop is an imaging editing software that enhances the quality of photos by layering effects over each other. I created all my drinks using this software. The use of Photoshop requires a moderate skill level and with practice from my AS coursework, I had no difficulties using this software. Quick image editing is achieved with Photoshop as it is easier to manipulate objects on screen than manually.

Creating Music FruityLoops Studio is a music production software which allows the creating and editing of music. Creating music is easy with the use of FL Studio. Channels can be imported from various templates or can be manually installed. Editing Music is done in cells and with simple functions, new music can be generated. The use of FL Studio allowed me to design my music specifically to the preference of my target audience.

Editing Audio I used Audacity to record my radio advertisement. This software application is available to download free online at: Audacity is a simplified audio editing software which was perfect for recording my radio advertisement. Each audio track is displayed in layers and with simple tools a good production can be created. Audacity has various tools and effects for my radio advertisement the leveller tool and the wahwah effect was the most beneficial.

Evaluation For the evaluation, I used the same hardware to complete my tasks however I used different software to enhance to quality of each task. Software used in Evaluation: AudacityFinal Cut Pro iPhone 4, Safari, KeynoteNumbers Pages.

Evaluation I used Audacity to record all the audio feedback for my evaluation. This software is free and available to download over the internet. Audacity is user friendly and has many simple tools that can be very effective. The toolbox provides a selection of tools which make editing quick and easy For the evaluation I used the select tool to highlight unwanted recordings and deleted them. I also adjusted the levels by scrolling the level bar.

Evaluation Final Cut Pro Is a software on the Mac. This software allows videos to be edited with tools and filters. I used Final Cut Pro to create a slide show of images linked directly to audio transferred from audacity. The result of using this software is displayed for one of the evaluation questions. The most essential tools I used for the evaluation can be found in viewer. Tools such as the scale tool allows me to resize the images to fit the size of the screen.

My iPhone was used to take photos of my focus group. The iPhone is a prime example of technological convergence as it brings together different platforms into one device. The HD camera allowed me to capture a good photo. The iPhone provides instant options once the photo has been captured. I chose to send the photo through a cloud application known as Dropbox. Allowing access to my media anywhere with an internet connection. Evaluation

Conclusion The use of media technologies has allowed me to accomplish all my tasks and My creativity increased during the creation of all my productions as I wasn’t limited with the resources provided by the hardware of software and I could always experiment and view the outcome before finalising my work. Media technologies provide quick, easy and accessible tools which improved the quality of my work as I was able to create each product to the preference of my target audience.
