Practice Information Practice Begins the week of March 5th 1 hour practice once per week Practice Sites Soccer – Sealy Elementary School or TBD by team

Game Information Games Soccer – Saturday mornings Locations Soccer – Sealy Elementary School Everyone should arrive to the game at least 10 minutes prior to warm-up and be ready to start on time How to cancel or reschedule a game (coach will call the YMCA as well as opposing coach)

Rainouts/Makeups 1. Practice rainouts/makeups 2. Games Decision will be made by 7:30am on Saturdays (We will the coaches, update quickscores and let the Katy Y front desk know) Decision will either be “all games are cancelled” or “all games are on” For game rainouts, coaches will be contacted by the YMCA the following week for makeups We will schedule makeup games and provide officials. If new time does not work for the team/coach it will be up to the coaches to find a new game time! Games are typically made up during the week.

Officials Most officials are years old All are trained YMCA Sports Officials Training CPR/AED/O2 & 1 st Aid Certifications Any serious problems, coach should address with official in appropriate manner (not a parent), then call YMCA if necessary Please be courteous Harassment of officials will not be tolerated First games are usually the toughest – be kind!

Emergency Procedures Coach contacts Parent or Guardian Immediately Make sure you can get a hold of all parents – have correct contact numbers Accident Reports, Incident Reports Must fill out and return to Y within 24 hrs

Abandoned Child Ask all parents to stay at all practices and games. If they leave do following: Coach will call YMCA for other contact information if they cannot reach parents Coach will ask the assistant coach or another parent to stay until abandoned child is picked up, if he/she cannot Last option – two adults drive child to the Katy YMCA

Child Abuse Prevention We make an active effort to prevent child abuse. These efforts include but are not limited to: Background checks on staff and volunteers All coaches are not allowed to start practices until their drivers license have been swiped and their volunteer applications turned in to Sports Director (do not leave application with the front desk, it has personal information on it) Allegations and suspicions are taken seriously and are reported to the proper authorities

Child Abuse Reporting Procedures The YMCA has a no tolerance position on child abuse If you suspect child abuse you can report it to any Director in the YMCA or call CPS (Child Protection Services)

Appropriate Touch Kids need touches of encouragement, but there are appropriate and inappropriate ways of touching a child Frontal Hugs vs. Side Hugs Sitting on Lap vs. Sitting next to High Fives vs. …….
