Presentation transcript:

Views on Health Care Obama’s Plan Obama wants to increase accessibility and affordability for Health Care. Obama proposed a plan that strengthens employer coverage, makes insurance companies accountable and ensures patient choice of doctor and care without government interference. Romney’s Plan Says he would repeal “Obama-care” and use his own 5-step plan to remake America’s economy. In place of Obama care, Romney will put in place a Health Care reform plan. Romney will have a state health insurance exchange.

Views on Health Care Continued Obama’s Plan Stop health insurers from denying coverage to children under age 19 because of preexisting conditions, such as asthma and diabetes. Give people with Medicare access to free preventive services to detect medical conditions early. Romney’s Plan In place of Obama Care, Mitt will pursue policies that give each state the power to craft a health care reform plan that is best for its own citizens. Replace the Affordable Care law with policies that give each state power to create its own health care reform plan.

Views on Health Care Continued Obama Calls for patient protections like allowing coverage for pre-existing conditions Allow young adults under age 26 to stay on a parent’s health insurance plan. Obama is trying to keep Medicare affordable for people who rely on it most Romney Encouraging individuals to purchase their own health insurance rather than via employers, and allowing insurance across state lines. -Give consumers more choice in health insurance by allowing them to purchase insurance from a different state.
