List and explain 4 major reasons why the colonists defeated the British in the Revolutionary War?

1. Better leadership Colonial leaders made better adjustments and were not cocky

2. Foreign aid to help the colonies France and Spain helped the colonies

3. Knowledge of the land British could control the coasts but not the inland

4. Colonial motivation Colonists were fighting for their families and property

The British left for good in November of 1783

44. How many years did the Revolutionary War take to fight?

The Revolutionary War lasts roughly 8 years (1775 to 1783) Second longest war in U.S. history – Vietnam was the longest
