Annually, Football and Men’s Basketball campus branding opportunities via broadcasts are valued in excess of $1.15 million. 2. Develops esprit de corps among alumni, friends, staff and students, bonding them to the university family. 3. Draws people back to campus to see the growth of NC State and creates the opportunity to become more engaged in campus life. In excess of one million spectators visited athletic events during Generates funds for the university licensing unit, for use by campus, as teams win and provide national exposure for our University. 5. NC State University Department of Athletics Competitive Excellence Recent Significant Achievements Program record 18 of 23 teams reached NCAAs in Conference Champions: Softball (‘13), Gymnastics (’13, ‘09), Rifle (’13, ‘10), Men’s Cross Country (‘11, ‘10). NC State was one of three schools nationally in to appear in a football bowl game, the men’s basketball NCAA Tournament, and the Baseball College World Series. Men’s Basketball seeking 3 rd consecutive NCAA Tournament, including Sweet 16 in Baseball reached 2013 College World Series (first since 1968). Softball won 2013 ACC Championship under first-year coach Shawn Rychick. Men’s Swimming finished 15th at 2013 NCAA Championships, the highest of any ACC school, under ACC Coach of the Year Braden Holloway. Women’s Basketball ranked in Top 25 under first-year head coach Wes Moore. Volleyball returned to the NCAA tournament in 2012 for the first time since 1987 under third year head coach Bryan Bunn. 12

NC State University Department of Athletics Academic Achievement Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes (ASPSA) ASPSA is a unit of the Division of Academic & Student Affairs (DASA). Comprehensive academic support program including academic counselors, peer mentors, tutoring, learning specialists, etc. 15 full-time professionals, several interns and approximately 70 tutors. ASPSA staff is one of the largest staffs among ACC Schools. $1.74M annual funding provided by Athletic Department. Department of Athletics personnel work collaboratively with the ASPSA Staff. Since 2010, a class attendance policy has been in place for at-risk student-athletes. 15

NC State University Department of Athletics Significant Academic Achievements in NC State Honor Roll: 493 student-athletes earned 3.0+ GPA in fall or spring semesters. Dean’s List: 256 student-athletes earned honors ACC Academic Honor Roll: 191 student-athletes with 3.0+ GPA for academic year. Academic All-American: 13 student-athletes (Women’s Basketball only program in nation with 2 Academic All Americans.) 17

NC State University Department of Athletics Student-Athlete Engagement Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) is the leadership group of student-athletes who meet monthly and provide general feedback to athletics administration and coordinate community outreach programs. Student-Athlete Survey (returning student-athletes) and Exit Interview (departing student-athletes) conducted annually to secure direct feedback. Wolfpack Leadership Academy launched in 2012 to develop leaders, focus team development, manage conflict, increase coach awareness, increase mental toughness, create responsible decision making, and provide marketable leadership skills for a lifetime. “The Wolfies” is an ESPYs-style awards banquet held each Spring to honor student-athlete competitive and academic achievements. “Welcome Back Pack” orientation programming held each August to begin the school year. 19

NC State University Department of Athletics Service Highlights in $100,000 raised for local, national, and international charities. 4,000 children were visited by 53 student-athletes who shared a message about the value of positive character traits. 1,000 toys donated to Toys for Tots at a home football game. 750 meals were served by student-athletes through Athletes in Action at a homeless shelter. 137 charitable organizations and schools received donated game tickets and autographed items to assist with their fundraisers. 30 non-profit organizations, including the Jimmy V and Kay Yow Foundations, benefited from our student-athletes volunteering their time. 20
