Koalas

Koalas' Food Koalas eat Eucalyptus leaves. The plants smell like cough drops. So, when the koala is eating the leaves it smells like cough drops.

What Are Koalas Called? A female koala is called a doe (самка). A male koala is called a buck (самец). A young koala is called a joey (детеныш).

What Is Koala? A koala is a marsupial (сумчатое). Koalas are warm- blooded. Koalas have fur and they have babies. Koalas keep their babies in their pouch (сумка) until they get old enough to come out from the pouch.

How Do Koalas Sleep And Where Do They Sleep? Koalas sleep up to 20 hours a day. Koalas sleep high in the trees. Koalas sleep so they can get more energy to climb trees.

Do Koalas Ever Run? Yes, they do. Koalas can run as fast as a rabbit. The only time koalas run is if they run from tree to tree or run away from predators (хищник).

Where Do Koalas Live? Koalas live in Australia. Koalas live in eucalyptus trees. They get their own tree to live in. Koalas don’t drink much, they get water from the leaves they eat.

Are Koalas Endangered? Koalas are not endangered yet but they are labeled vulnerable. There are many reasons why koalas are endangered : dog attacks, bush fires, road accidents. There are less than 43,000 koalas left in the world.
