Koala Koala Koala Bears By Mrs. Mertens Kindergarten class
In our class, we have been learning about Koalas. They are awesome!
Koalas are cute when they are sleeping. They love to sleep most of the day. Did you know that Koalas sleep during the day and sleep in a tree?
When they wake up at night, they eat. This means they are nocturnal.
Koalas like to hang from trees and get leaves to eat from the Gum and Eucalyptus trees. The leaves give them water.
Koalas smell the leaves before they eat because some leaves are poisonous. Koalas have a great sense of smell, as well, as good eye sight, and hearing.
Koala babies are born alive (not hatched) and stay in a pouch. The babies drink milk from their mothers because they are mammals, and mammals drink milk.
Koala babies hang on to their mom’s back so they stay safe in the tree.
Koala’s live in the forests of Australia. Learn more about Koalas because they do fascinating things. They are fun!!
