Plans Implemented which mentioned previously “To give more emphasis on Entrepreneurship, selecting the projects in such an orientation and helping the students to start up their own ventures in co-ordination with Start-up village Incubation Centre.” To fulfill this,three of our students projects are incubated in Start-up village. Also department had given training on various technologies like HTML, VB.net etc to other branch students as a part of our student initiative to incubate their software ideas.

Plans Implemented which mentioned previously “To earn more technological values to the project work, Department is taking keen attention to shape the work.” – Organized 3 Day workshop on EMBEDDED SYSTEM for final year students to give guidance and support to their project.

Activities Conducted in the Department On conducted “Alen Turing Day” with various Competitions – Organized 3 Day workshop on EMBEDDED SYSTEM for final year students. On a session organized for all students of the dept. on the topic “Leadership “ by Dr.Rajasingh of Alpha College - Chennai.

Activities cont … Towards social commitment, organized half day seminar on “ Awareness of Organ Donation “ by Dr. V.J Paul on July Organized an introductory session on “ App Development though HTML “ for the students who want to incubate their projects in Start-up Village.

Activities Cont … On account of Google’s Birthday, conducted “ Google – Doodle” poster making competition on as an Inter Branch event. On Launch of a Repository web site and organized a Technical talk on “Black Berry App. Development” by Mr. Zacharias Manuel – Tech Head of Start-up Village.

Project Exhibition On 7 th Oct 2013 conducted project exhibition for S3 batch students. This time the projects were based on simple programming exercise using “Alice” software and hobby circuits. On 11 th Oct 2013 conducted project exhibition for S5 students.

New Ventures in Department Department has been shifted to New Decennial Block. Two New Computer labs set apart with total capacities of 60 seats & 40 seats each. The labs are named as follows: 1.Innovation Performance Computing lab. 2.Soft Computing lab.

Budget Sanctioned and Utilization For the Academic Year 2013-’14 total Budget Sanctioned is Rs. 40,00, As of now the budget utilized is Rs. 34,66, for various activities, renewals and purchases.

Study Tour & Industrial Visits During the month of August all 4 batches have undergone Industrial Visits. S7 CSE -- Hyderabad & Bangalore, Visited 3 Industries S5 CSE – Bangalore, Visited 2 Industries. S3 CSE A Batch -- Trivandrum S3 CSE B Batch – Ponmudi & Ernakulam Visited 1 Industry.

Social Work Towards the social Commitment towards the society, Final year students on visited District Hospital- Thrissur & Cleaned the premises and distributed Lunch to the in- patients of the hospital.

Student Achievements & Results. The result of last passed out final year students was Excellent. Total Pass percentage : 94.7 % This is a Top result in the all engineering Colleges of University of Calicut.

Students result analysis Cont.. Three series tests conducted for all the batches of students. From the analysis we could maintain overall pass percentage of 73 % for all the batches. In connection with this, conducted PTWA meeting and Personally met the parents of all students of the Dept. The personnel 1:1 interaction with parents leads to improvement in the results of our students.

Student Achievements. Ashith Ragunath, AthulAnsakumar & George of S5 CSE selected for Aspiration 2020 of Infosys- State level finals. Girish Menon & Ajith M of Final year participated in IEEE conference at Coimbatore. ACES team won Ist Prize in 3D Collage. Vishnu of S3 CSE B batch,His project has been incubated in Start-up village. Rahul P, Girish Menon, Ajith M, Varghese, Varsha, Christa were selected by start-up village for the promoting of entrepreneurial activities among students like incubation of projects, starting new companies etc.

Faculty Achievements Mr. Sankaranarayanan won IInd Prize in Infosys Faculty Excellence award contest. Mr. SankaraNarayanan developed a software for the college for taking Feed Back.And is installed and Successfully running. Mr. Havinash won IInd Prize in Infosys Faculty Excellence award contest.

Faculty Achievements Cont.. Mrs.Anila Thomas & Ms. Deepa devassy attended 5 days FEP of Infosys at ToCH. Mr.Anto Jacob Developed a software – Circular management System, and it is yet to installed with. Mr. Krishnadas registred for his PhD.

Faculty Achievements Cont.. Mr. Vince Paul attended and presented a paper” Application DDoS attack resistance scheme using polynomial distribution Model” in an International conference conducted by IEEE at Rajagiri Engg. College and Published the paper in IEEE Xplore. On 25 th October 2013 Mr. Vince Paul is going to deliver a keynote address in National Conference conducting at SNGEC- Kadayiruppu. Mrs. Divya Michel published a paper in International Journal – IJACSA.

Departmental Remarkable Achievement On Sept. 5 th occasion of Teachers day celebration, Dept. initiated Video Conferencing with Hon. Vice Chancellor of University of Calicut. It was one of the remarkable event in the history of Calicut University.

Departmental Remarkable Activities & Achievements During the report period various agencies like Keltron, Siffy, TCS etc conducted various Online Examinations. From the above said activities we could generate an income of Rs. 2 Lakh. This activity is continuing. For the forthcoming GATE examination we are also one of the test venue.

Future Plans – Placement Assistance To give more emphasis on Entrepreneurship, selecting the projects in such an orientation and helping the students to start up their own ventures in co-ordination with Start-up village Incubation Centre, TBI Tehnopark etc. Giving awareness to our final year students about “ in50Hrs “ program – which is platform for young engineers to convert their ideas into prototype and later into products. By promoting the above said activities the students themselves can find their future career and also they can give employment to others.
