Arctic Wolf By Keagan Young

The Animal’s body A arctic wolf mother can only have up to 2 or 3 babies. The pups are born deaf, blind, and helpless. They depend on their mom for their food. Wolves vary in size, usually they are about 3 feet tall from head to toe. The female weighs about 100 pounds. A grown male is about 175 pounds. The arctic wolf may be many different colors. They can be red, gray, white and black fur.

The Animal’s Habitat Some arctic wolves live in dens they dig them deep. When they make a den, they make separate rooms for food and pups. The arctic wolf has lived in North America for two million years. They also live in Canada and New Zealand. Wolves like to climb to the top of things. They have even made their homes out of the tops of icebergs.

The Animal’s Living Habits The arctic wolf hunts lemmings and arctic hare. They also like musk oxen and caribou. They will kill any animal they can. They hunt in packs, which means in big groups. One wolf can eat up to 20 pounds at one time.

Ending Paragraph I really like the arctic wolf because they are not afraid of humans and because they have pretty fur. Arctic wolves belong to the mammals group.
