Description - Length: 3-5 feet from tip of nose to tip of tail - Height: inches to shoulder - Weight: Male: pounds Female: slightly less - Shape: Thick pads on their feet. they have a short muzzle, small ears, short legs, and a bulky body. - they are offwhite in the winter and tan to grey in the sumer months
Habitat -Alaska, Canada, Asia, and Europe -Arctic tundra *temps. rarely reach above -33 °c ( -22 °f)
Diet MEAT: they eat most of the animal - arctic hare - musk oxen - caribou - lemmings - birds PLANTS - none i. they are carnivores
Offspring - Litters of 4-7 pups each weighing about a pound each. - The mother has a gestation period of 6 days. - The pups are blind, deaf, and helpless at birth. - All pups are born with blue eyes. - They find a cave or a den to give birth in.
Socail Behavior - normally only the dominant male and female mate, but all of the members of the pack help care for the pups - they return to the same den to mate and to give birth year after year - they tend to have the same mate their entire life -hunt in packs
Temperment They are very protective of the pups! They can be very territorial! They are stubborn! They are agressive! CAUTION: EXTREMLY DANGEROUS!
