What is the Computer Clubhouse? CreativityCommunityCollaboration A creative out-of-school digital design studio where young people from underserved communities express themselves through “STEAM” – STEM and the arts The Clubhouse fosters:

The Computer Clubhouse Learning Model Support learning through design experiences Help youth build on their own interests Cultivate an emergent community of learners Create an environment of trust and respect

What makes the Computer Clubhouse unique? Learning Model – Youth Empowerment Young people take ownership of their learning, developing technological, workforce & leadership skills. More than Just Access Youth engage with high-end technologies, supported by adult volunteers from a variety of professions. 94% of Clubhouse members plan to continue their education beyond high school. 97% of Alumni said the Computer Clubhouse was the most important source of support for setting high goals & expectations for themselves.

What Makes This Approach Work? Everyone teaches everyone. Everyone learns from everyone Learning can generate pride, laughter, or frustration-- or all three Learning is non-hierarchical; youth take charge of their own learning The Clubhouse creates a safe space for experimentation

What is the impact of Computer Clubhouses?
