Fine Arts Vision The vision of Northwest ISD fine arts is to be the premier school district in the state of Texas for the visual and performing arts.

Northwest ISD is committed to providing every student with the highest level of instruction in the visual and performing arts. The comprehensive fine arts program includes studies in the areas of Art, Band, Cheerleading, Choir, Color/Winter Guard, Dance, Debate, Elementary Music, Music Theory, Jazz Band, Orchestra, Speech and Theatre. 113 teachers serving over 16,500 students who receive instruction in the fine arts each week

Northwest ISD has been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education for the 6th consecutive year.

Highlights of Program Accomplishments 14 Students qualified for state in 2014 in the areas of tech theatre, debate, choir, and orchestra Byron Nelson Color Guard placed 2 nd at the NTCA Championship Student art work at Fort Worth Stock Show and sold for $2,450 First NISD orchestra all-state student (ranked 13 in the state) Band, Choir, and Orchestra programs won a total of 27 Sweepstakes awards Byron Nelson received perfect scores at all UIL events for band, choir, and orchestra Nico Holt won the Gold Seal award for Art from Texas VASE The Northwest Sidekicks were the 2014 Grand Champion overall winners at the Marching Auxiliaries dance contest Significant increase in band, choir, and orchestra All-Region participants. 207 students were selected. Northwest ISD Elementary Honor Choir was selected to perform at the Texas Music Educators Conference (February 2013) Fine Arts programs have received more than $250,000 in grants over the past five years.

Musicals in Northwest ISD included: Middle School – Willy Wonka Byron Nelson – How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying Northwest – Bye Bye Birdie More than 6,500 in attendance
