Shapes in Sports Logos Created by Cyndi Thompson and her fifth grade buddy Johnny Johnson. Picture from: Todd Radom Logo Designer of Professional Baseball, Football, and Basketball. N.p., 16 May Google. Web. 29 Mar Pittsburg Penguins Logo Shapes Present: 1.Oval 2.Parallelogram 3.Triangle This logo represents the Pittsburg Penguins hockey team. It contains an oval on the penguins belly, and we know it is an oval because it resembles the egg shape and has at least one line of reflection. It also contains a triangle that can be seen behind the penguin, and we know it is a triangle because it has three sides that are connected to one another. The logo also contains a parallelogram at the bottom of the hockey stick since both sides are parallel to each other and opposite angles are congruent. Stuff Leaking From My Brain. N.p., 13 Apr Web. 29 Mar Los Angeles Kings Logo Shapes Present: 1.Circle 2.Diamond 3.Triangle This logo represents the Los Angeles Kings hockey team. It contains circles located in many places on the crown, and we know they are circles because the shape is a curve that continues for 360 degrees. It also contains a diamond at the center of the crown near the top, and we know it is a diamond because it has four sides with two pairs of congruent sides next to each other. It also contains triangles around the suns on the side of the crown, and we know that they are triangles because these shapes contain three sides that connect to each other. Green Bay Packers Logo This logo represents the Green Bay Packers football team and it contains the oval and crescent shapes. The yellow curve around the G is an oval because it resembles an egg, it can be divided into two equal parts in two ways, and it is convex. There is also a crescent on this Packer’s logo represented in the green curve bordering the yellow background. We know it is a crescent because it resembles a portion of the moon. Green Bay Packers Lunch Napkin. Gigaweb, n.d. Web. 29 Mar Shapes Present: 1.Oval 2.Crescent Milwaukee Brewers Logo Shape Present: 1.Square This logo represents the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team and it contains a square shaped border. The square in the border can be seen by the outlined white, gold, or green lines. We know it is a square because it contains four lines of equal size and each vertex has a ninety degree angle. MLB Team Logos. Phombo, n.d. Web. 29 Mar San Jose Sharks Logo Shapes Present: 1.Triangle 2.Rectangle This logo represents the San Jose Sharks hockey team. The logo contains a triangle border, which can be seen by the grey, black, or Philadelphia Eagle green colored outline. We know it is a triangle because the shape has three sides that connect to each other at three vertices. The sharks teeth also make up the triangular shape. There is a grey rectangle present on the end of the hockey stick, and we know it is a rectangle because it has two pairs of congruent sides and four right angles. Stuff Leaking From My Brain.
