TSUNAMI EXPERT LINDSEY WRIGHT BY: JORGIA

A tsunami data analyst collects, processes, edits, and distributes data from DART buoys and tide gauges. WHAT DOES A TSUNAMI DATA ANALYST DO?

A tsunami is a series of waves that are caused by a disturbance to the ocean floor. Some examples of these disturbances are: -Earthquakes -Volcanic eruptions A tsunami can be very small while in the ocean but can grow very large by the time it hits the lands surface Tsunami’s are very powerful and dangerous WHAT IS A TSUNAMI?

Tsunami data comes from many different sources. One way Tsunami's are detected are by DART buoys located in the ocean. Others are through the internet. Another way Tsunami’s are detected are by satellite and even telephone lines HOW DO TSUNAMI’S GET DETECTED? Here is a DART buoy used to detect Tsunami’s

Tsunamis occur in the Pacific Ocean and Indonesia often. But, tsunamis also occur in the Mediterranean Sea area and happen in the Caribbean Sea too. Tsunamis occur in the Pacific Ocean and Indonesia more often because there are a lot of earthquakes in that zone. TSUNAMI ACTIVITY Tsunami in Tohoku Japan last year on March 11. Picture of Tohoku tsunami

NOAA will get warnings for Tsunami’s and people like Lindsey edit, process, distribute, and collect the data sent to them. Then, there will be a warning issued if needed. Here is a game link to go and help save people and communities from tsunami's other natural disasters.tsunami's TSUNAMI GAME Here is a Tsunami wave. Here is a Tsunami protection wall.

In conclusion, Lindsey has an important job, she warns people of incoming tsunami’s. I want to thank her for being my mentor and teaching me about her profession. The jobs in this field are important. This would be a great career to go into if your interested in tsunami’s! CONCLUSION
