 DSL is best suited for: home networking, online gaming, social networking, sharing photos, and downloading music  DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line.  What does DSL do? It lets you talk on the phone and use the Internet at the same time by putting different signals on different frequencies.

 The DSL internet connection I chose was AT&T.  The reason I chose AT&T:  $ 14.95/mo. for a full 12 months with no term commitment.  FREE wireless gateway  Modem Included

 Downstream Speed: Up to 3.0 Mbps Upstream Speed: Up to 384 Kbpsd  Wi-Fi access for Internet on the go  AT&T Internet Security Suite - powered by McAfee®

 A modem is a device that converts computer signals.  The modem sends signals over phone lines and converts them from analog signals to digital signals.  The computer is able to process and read the information.

An Ethernet interface is intended for network traffic only. Ethernet can also be used to connect a DSL or cable modem to a computer. Ethernet interfaces are included with most modern motherboards Ethernet is a high-speed networking protocol. It is used primarily to connect local area networks (LANs). USB stands for Universal Serial Bus. USB is used to connect peripheral devices to a computer.

 A wireless router is a device that performs the functions of a router, but also includes the functions of a wireless access point and a network switch.  A wireless router is commonly used to allow access to the Internet or a computer network without the need for a cabled connection.  It can function in a wired local area network.
