Into the Sands of Ancient Lands : Archaeological Investigations in Ancient Egypt Research Pathfinder and Dig Log

You have been invited to participate in a research assignment related to Ancient Egyptian life and culture. For this assignment, you will use the following pages to prepare an archaeology “Dig Log” or journal to share information that you find from various sources. You will find some of these resources at this URL: pt Special note 1: Researchers may need to copy and paste URLs to Internet browser, or choose presentation mode (the “screen” feature at bottom left) to click Links. Special Note 2: Some links require the NC wiseowl password to connect.

Hieroglyphics Hieroglyphics, or ancient Egyptian picture messages, have given archaeologists much information about life in Egypt in centuries past, but there were actually several forms of writing used in Egypt, even in ancient times. Read about the Rosetta Stone to learn more about how archaeologists know so much about ancient Egyptian life and culture. Read the article at this URL and summarize it in the space on the next slide. Be sure to include the important facts, but not every detail.
