The Sioux Tribe

The Sioux house The Sioux were living on the edge of the Eastern Woodlands. But were forced into the Plains by Europe. They wanted to travel easy. So they have tepee’s because they could be traveled. It was made out of sticks and Buffalo hide.

Food The Sioux ate many kinds of food such as elk, deer, and bison, these were their main meat source of food. And they used berries as paint for their tepees’ such as corn, beans, and squash.

War!! For weapons they used bones as bows and clubs & they found sticks and steel for spears. The Sioux killed Custer and his 225 Cavalrymen( in less than an hour) in a war to keep the Black Hills. When Custer was Killed they barried his pistol In the Black Hills, It was never found.

The Sioux Tribes The Sioux were not 1 tribe But 7. They called themselves Lakota, Dakota, Nakota. These Names meant “The People”, or “The Allies.”
