What do you do? Measure out 100 ml of the juice in a flask. Use the micropipette to measure out 2 ml of the starch indicator which we added to the juice.
Next We put a 50/50 diluted potassium iodide solution in a burette. We slowly added this to the juice sample until there was a noticeable short lasting change in the color. We calculated how much potassium iodide solution it took to change the color of the sample.
Skills… Materials: Burette and a pipette, micro pipette. Starch indicator that tells when the reaction is done, it will change color.
Techniques… Techniques- titration is when you add a substance to the substance that you're working with and it will react with the amount. It will show how much is there. Pipetting- you draw an exact amount of the substance into the pipette.
