Calculator Policy for Smarter Mathematics Assessments Grades 3–5 1 content/uploads/2014/03/Calculator-Availability-by-Grade-Level.pdf For students taking the online Smarter Mathematics Assessment, no external calculators are permitted unless explicitly stated in the Smarter Balanced Usability, Accessibility, and Accommodations Guidelines and the Delaware Accessibility Guidelines document. Grades 3–5 Calculator Availability – The Smarter Mathematics Assessments for grades 3–5 do not allow for calculator usage.
