The meeting opened with a presentation, outlining the results of the Dock Residents Parking survey carried out 2 years ago. It was acknowledged that although parking can be a problem at times, this is not something that is unique to the Dock, but is a problem for all London residents. It was suggested that the group could gauge support from Residents for 2 ideas, which might ease the parking situation. 1) The Group could revisit the idea of a ‘Controlled Parking Zone’ in Augustus Close (which is the public road owned by LBH) although when this has been previously considered the cost to Residents posed a barrier. (The cost of the first car for a Resident is £67.50 with the second car costing £112. Visitor Permits cost £22.50 for 30 hours). 2) The Group could ask Residents if they would be interested in a Car Club Scheme. You can send comments or sign the surveys located in the Office and Security. The Group also asked the office to explain the present ‘Parking Permit Policy’, the full document can be seen at brentforddock.com or by contacting the Office. The brief version is: a maximum of 2 permits are allowed per property; purple and red passes are for Galba 1A, Servius, Marcus and Leo Courts, blue, green and yellow if you live elsewhere depending on if you own a garage or parking space. The Council will be writing to all Residents of Galba 1A, Servius, Maurice and Leo Courts within the next few weeks regarding parking within the areas of those blocks. 48 hour visitor permits are available from Security. The next meeting is on Monday 3 rd August at 7.30pm in the clubroom. brentforddock.com

3 2  Football - as the summer holidays approach a reminder to parents please that the ‘kicking of a football’ is not permitted anywhere on the Dock.  Dog - owners please keep your dogs on leads at all times, except down by the BBQ area, where dogs can be off a lead as long as they are under control.  Following a near miss a week ago, all cyclists are asked to slow down when cycling around the Dock. Residents’ Comments / Housekeeping Issues What's happening on the Dock BBQ Area Best Wishes Barry The first photo shows the BBQ area on a recent Monday following a sunny weekend. This is obviously an eyesore and unpleasant for the cleaners who spent 45 minutes clearing up food waste. We have provided 2 more metal bins with lids in addition to the existing bins. Please use these new bins for all food and food wrapping waste, but NOT for hot coals or discarded BBQ trays which should go into the round metal bins. This will help keep the area tidy and stop the foxes / birds spreading the rubbish. Have a great summer and enjoy our beautiful grounds. The Management Office is looking at a new IT system to record tasks that are requested by Residents. It is important that all requests to the Office are sent to and not to individual office staff. This is particularly important as the holiday season approaches and will help us process your requests. Work is continuing in the Residents’ Clubroom and the new blinds have now been fitted. It is important not to use force on these blinds and we have been advised that the panels should be in the open position when opening or closing them. Please do not stick anything to the walls and a vacuum is available to tidy up after use. In addition to the refurbishment in the clubroom the Board of Directors have agreed to replace some of the furniture, such as the tables, and provide Wi-Fi and internet access. Block redecorations continue in Galba Court and have now moved on to Otho Court. Please contact the Office to let us know what colour door you would like and we can give you a telephone number to arrange a convenient appointment. The new bulk waste system is working well and we are going to extend the hours that Residents can contact Security for the keys to use this facility. Monday to Saturday 0830h to 1800h, Sunday 1100h to 1700h. Suitable trolleys are available. The additional tables and benches for the BBQ area will arrive shortly, together with tables and benches for the Marina Bar roof. Barry our ‘New Zealand gardener’ is leaving the Dock after looking after our grounds for the last 2 years. Over this time we have had many compliments regarding the high quality of the gardens. We will be sorry to see him go, but he is moving to China, where his wife has a teaching contract. We wish Barry all the best and would like to thank him for his time with us on the Dock. These 6 Morrison's trolleys were collected from the Dock on 1 day last month. They had been left on walkways and at the bottom of lifts. Morrison's say that the trolleys should not leave the store premises', if you do ‘borrow’ a trolley please make sure you return it to the store and don’t rely on others to do so.
