CLASS OVERVIEW  TEXTBOOK-PASO A PASO  WE WILL COMPLETE APPROXIMATELY 8 CHAPTERS IN THE BOOK

DAILY AGENDA-IS ALWAYS POSTED ON THE BOARD ALONG WITH THIS WEEKS HOMEWORK  It is also posted on my school website. Go to Liberty’s web site, click on teachers, then my name.

HOMEWORK  HOMEWORK WILL BE GIVEN NIGHTLY  HOMEWORK IS DUE AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS  LATE HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED UP TO 1 WEEK FOR HALF CREDIT

LISTENING LOG  BEGINNING IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS FOR SPANISH 2 AND AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 2 ND QUARTER FOR SPANISH 1, STUDENTS WILL HAVE A LISTENING LOG FOR HOMEWORK.

 FOR 10 MINUTES A NIGHT THEY WILL NEED TO:  LISTEN TO SPANISH MUSIC ON THEIR IPOD  WATCH TV IN SPANISH (ESPN DEPORTES, SPONGE BOB)  WATCH VIDEOS ON THE COMPUTER  (I’LL BE GIVING THEM APPROPRIATE PLACES TO GO)  THEY WILL WRITE DOWN VOCABULARY THEY RECOGNIZE

MAKE UP WORK  IF YOUR STUDENT HAS A LEGITEMATE ABSENCE, HE OR SHE WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE UP THEIR MISSED WORK  IT IS UP TO YOUR STUDENT TO SEE ME REGARDING THEIR MAKE UP WORK

CLASS SUPPLIES  YOUR STUDENT IS REQUIRED TO HAVE A BINDER FOR THIS CLASS  SPANISH – ENGLISH DICTIONARY FOR HOME USE

BLOCK SCHEDULING AND LEARNING A LANGUAGE  YOUR STUDENT WILL NOT HAVE THIS CLASS EVERYDAY  ONE WEEK IT WILL BE THREE DAYS AND THE NEXT WILL BE ONLY TWO DAYS  BECAUSE OF THIS, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOUR STUDENT STUDIES SPANISH EVERY NIGHT

GRADING   40% TESTS   25% DAILY PARTICIPATION   25% CLASS WORK   10% HOMEWORK

GRADING  A= %  B=80- 89%  C=69-79%  D=59-68%

LEARNING  THROUGH SPEAKING ACTIVITIES  LISTENING ACTIVITIES  CULTURAL PROJECTS  ORAL PRESENTATIONS  WEB BASED ACTIVITIES

EXPECTATIONS/RULES  COME TO CLASS ON TIME  BE READY AND PREPARED TO LEARN  BE RESPECTFUL TO ALL

FINALS THERE WILL BE A SPANISH FINAL AT THE END OF EACH SEMESTER THE DECEMBER FINAL WILL ENCOMPASS ALL THAT WE HAVE LEARNED THE PREVIOUS 2 QUARTERS. THE JUNE FINAL WILL BE CUMULATIVE. THE JUNE FINAL WILL BE CUMULATIVE.
