How do Holidays Connect us to Africa? Starter Activity: What did you find out in your homework? Do you know anyone who has visited Africa? Why did they go there? Where did they visit?

Objectives: Exploring Africa To develop geographical imaginations of tourist locations in Africa To develop map skills To develop and express views on tourist attractions

Exploring Africa Your Task: Imagine that you are going on a trip around Africa visiting the vast range of tourist attractions the continent has to offer. You are to use the information sheet and Atlas to complete Activity Sheet 1. (country names are in italics, attractions in bold) Then match the photos to each place using the descriptions as a guide to help you.

Learning Review This is the plenary of the lesson where you consider what you have learned and how. Questions to discuss will follow. Work in pairs to decide upon your responses and make some notes so that you can talk about these with the class.
