To that end, we have introduced a number of initiatives aimed at meeting specific needs of the developer community. These are: Open Development (OD) provides tools for prospective business partners to develop innovative devices and applications and to certify their solutions with a simplified process on the Verizon Wireless network LTE Innovation Center, which provides the opportunity for selected participants to rapidly develop products within Verizon Wireless’ diverse LTE ecosystem of technology and product enablers. A twin Innovation Center focused on applications will open 2H 2011 in San Francisco, CA. Verizon Developer Community (VDC), which provides application developers the latest tools and resources, as well as a streamlined go-to-market process for placement in our V CAST Apps store 4G Venture Forum (4GVF), which is a collaboration of select venture funds, Verizon Wireless, Alcatel-Lucent and Ericsson, designed to facilitate the identification and commercialization of next generation 4G-related technologies nPhase, a joint venture with Qualcomm, which provides end-to-end M2M solutions to enable "Smart Services" initiatives in a variety of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, utilities, distribution and consumer products Finally, our partnership with other carriers is paramount in influencing technology standards and vendor designs for topics such as VoLTE and LTE roaming. Verizon’s leadership through these initiatives will provide the knowledge, tools, resources, distribution, and in some cases, even venture funding, in order to empower the open development community to deliver innovative solutions to the marketplace.
