Real World Problems Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing integers

Subtracting with Integers John is stranded on an island by himself. He checks his phone at noon and it says that it is 48 degrees. Time passes by and he checks it again at 7:00 and it’s -6 degrees. How much did the temperature drop from noon to 7:00 ? 48-(-6)=54

Adding with Integers Noah owed his mom $6. And his grandpa gave him $9 for his straight A’s. After paying his mom her money how much money does he have? -6+9=3

Multiplying with Integers The temperature on a cold day in January was -9 degrees. As the day went to night it got 3 times colder. Now what’s the temperature is it ? -9x3=-27

Dividing with Integers Tommy was playing golf. He had a record of -8. The next time he played he decreased his score by half. What was his score this time? -8/2=-4
