Fidelity’s “Day on the Job”) – You do NOT need to apply—if you fulfill all the requirements (completing the Investment Project and attending and/or making up the seminars), you ARE a Member of SWS!

What SWS will be doing in the spring: – We are looking for a much smaller group of SWS members who will serve as Associates and Analysts, conducting research on stocks of their choice and making recommendations to a student-run Investment Board. – The Investment Board will be making investment decisions and managing a portfolio with REAL money. industries currently covered by SWS consumer  financials  healthcare  media  technology

Associates and Analysts Analysts: Lead a team of SWS Associates within an industry. Analysts are chosen based on their knowledge of the industry, leadership ability, and their performance as Associates. –Conduct team meetings with Associates –Oversee team to conduct research on companies covered –Track performance of all stocks under coverage –Prepare and lead investment presentations to Investment Board –Work with Education Chair to bring in speakers, organize panels, and plan workshops –Present proposals to Investment Board for initiating coverage on new companies within the industry –Keep track of all presentations and recommendations to the Board Associates: Associates work within a team in the industry group to research companies, write reports, and present the team’s recommendations to the Investment Board. –Research individual companies by conducting own analysis, writing reports, presenting findings to team –Work with team to present recommendations to Investment Board –Present company initiation reports within industry –Become an “expert” in that industry

Executive Board –Education: Coordinate the fall Education Program, plan seminars, secure speakers, produce supplementary educational materials and handouts, formulate the Investment Project, and coordinate with industry Analysts to provide supplementary finance education in the spring across industry groups. –Internal: Oversee the mentorship program, lead the recruiting initiative, plan socials and community-building events, maintain the members database, and facilitate communication between all participants of SWS. –Marketing: Create all marketing materials, update the website, produce and design publications, lead external publicity initiatives, and work with Investing Chair to produce the Annual Report. –Investing: Manage the logistics of the investment fund, secure investing funds, and oversee the portfolio. –Operations: Secure Corporate Partnerships for operating expenses, plan visits to various companies, and handle legal and logistical issues. The Executive Board is composed of five Chairs led by a President, who is in charge of all day-to-day operations of the organization. These six members oversee each of the following elements of SWS:

Executive Board If you are interested in being part of the leadership of SWS through the Executive Board, you must fill out an application to be an Associate or Analyst. – We will be deciding on Executive Board members in late February or early March. – Executive Board members also have the opportunity to sit on the Investment Board.

what we’re looking for Analysts: – Leadership ability – Knowledge of the industry – Dedication and passion for investing – Organizational and analytical skills – Commitment to SWS Associates: – Interest in the industry – Willingness to learn – Commitment to SWS The function of Analysts and Associates will be to produce investment recommendations to an Investment Board. The analysis and work done is similar to the work done on the Investment Project, though on a more in-depth scale with greater implications. All positions will be for a semester; upon a new semester, you may decide to apply for a higher position, take on a new role in a different industry, or opt to stay an SWS Member. Because we are a new organization, we expect that some Analysts who are chosen will also sit on the first Investment Board.* * In the future, we expect to choose Investment Board members on the basis of their work within the Industry Teams.
