Class Supplies Environment Communication AssignmentsGrading

Class Supplies $5.00 Lab Fee Due within the first 2 weeks of the semester (the lab fee helps cover the costs associated with this class) Sketchbook Your sketchbook is your place to keep notes, brainstorm concepts, collect visual examples, and sketch out ideas. Each project will require sketchbook planning before you are allowed to complete the final product. This will be graded, along with the finished product Gmail Account We will be using drop box & One Drive to store files for this class. Drop Box requires an account. If you already have a personal account, you will need a separate one that you will use for school purposes. This needs to be set from home and sent to me through Edmodo within the first week of school.

Respect All students will be treated with respect, and all students will respect the rights of others, to encourage a peaceful working environment. Allergies Thank you for your consideration. I am allergic to colognes and perfumes. Please do not wear AXE, Charlie, or other perfumes in class. If I have a reaction to something you are wearing, I will ask you to leave class. Thank you for your consideration. Earbuds During individual work time, you are allowed to listen to music. However, you are only allowed access to music through the computer, not an individual device such as an iPhone, MP3 player, etc. If this becomes a distraction to your work or others, this privilege will be taken away. Equipment LEAVE FOOD AND DRINK OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM. We are lucky enough to have new computers this year, so take care of them and clean the space around you for others before you leave. Stay seated until the bell rings & push chairs in. Passes Passes are limited to emergencies. Take care of business between classes! Discipline The school progressive discipline policy will be followed. Environment (refer to the lab contract for important details)

Edmodo & Class website Edmodo & our class website will be used as our main sources of communication. All assignments & due dates will be posted in either place. Internet We will use the Internet extensively throughout class and all district policies will be enforced. Internet use will be monitored using district- approved security software. IF AT ANYTIME a student attempts to access inappropriate sites, games, or other non-class related material on the Internet, the contract agreement will be fully enforced. Communication

No Homework All work is done during class, so attendance is extremely important. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to try and catch up, especially if you are gone for an extended period. Assignments Most all assignments will be turned in as PDF files. You will always save the file in it’s natural form, and then again as a PDF. Assignments

Weighted grades oProject/Assignments = 75% oParticipation = 5% oFinal = 20% Note: I will round the FINAL grade at the.5 mark. For example 79.5 will be rounded to an 80% or a B in this case. Rubrics All projects will be graded on a rubric system. Each rubric is project specific. The normal scale will be used: = A = B = C = D 59 & below = F Grading

Course materials have been adapted with permission from Mr. Edelstein’s GD course at Preston High School. Thank you Mr. Edelstein!
