A gateway to the theoretical universe of vision and design A gateway to the theoretical universe of vision and design.

Today’s designer are aided by a plethora of dynamic tools that can be used for many reasons. MID or (Master of Intellectual Design) Is a loosely fit acronym that details the fundamentals of Design and Logic and how easily accessible technology brings designing tools to the general public. Even small business owners with no design experience at all are able to use such tools at their disposal however do they know what guidelines are to be followed during the design process? Are they keen on color theory, uniformity, branding,? Do they know the vast number of tools at their disposal and the procedural method of these applications where they can bend the functionality to their will? Are they able to layout a design with the vision in mind so they can they relay those thoughts in a concise yet aesthetically appealing manner? This is the process of MID and is something that business owners, inventors, investors, and hundreds of other trades struggle to prepare. It is a matter of creativity and technical knowledge and how to wield them both seamlessly. Conceptual Preparation is a challenge that MID may face and what sets them apart from neophytes with powerful technology in hand. Concepts base themselves off of information and innovative concepts are based off of creative design coupled by the information that was previously established. The difficulty with these types of innovative designs is bringing them to life through direction. Concepts lay a basis to a crude understanding whereas the communication of such concepts can be poorly established. Intellectual Design is both an art and a science for it is the talent to portray that information build on the innovative information and not only present it in an ideal fashion from which it was transferred but to make it aesthetically pleasant all at the same time.

Innovation is what separates oneself from other people, competition and way of life. Innovation tells a lot about a person, an organization, a culture. It is an advancement to a basic idea, a standing on the shoulders of giants metaphor. To build is to absorb knowledge. Background of the client should be researched to an extreme degree. A clients direction, their objective, their differences and their surroundings should all be placed in consideration. What sets them apart and what can be improved? It is the Apple vs. Microsoft, the Sony vs. Samsung, the difference and competition which will advance technology as a whole and so is the same with other business units. This leads us to adaption. Below is the hierarchy of innovation. Advancement: Through research and close monitoring from individuals who benefit from such ideas there are also an equal amount of inconveniences that are a result from limitations or archaic construction. Modernism is based on reason and vision which must be thoroughly exhausted asses if there is a benefit for the project. Assessment: Assessing is looking at others way of life and their work around. This can be on an economic, industrial, artistic or commercial scale. How do others use this? Where did their idea come from? What use is it doing it this way? This type of logic builds on Advancement and by maintaining the original objective or Foundation you can then continue to build through incremental steps. Foundation: The backbone of the client, their goal and their strongpoint. This is their purpose or idea without modernization.

Technology, ideas, cultures, and species are ever changing and do this not out of want but out of necessity and so is true with MID. You cannot remain complacent with everyday functionality if you wish to progress to a new you. You have to ask yourself how will this change society? How will this better me? How will this influence the world around me? Many businesses knuckle under not because they lack innovation it is because they lack the motivation to analyze their surroundings, explore outside those surroundings and through trial and error find out which betters their position. MID is not only for artisans but it is a way of life. A client is only as successful as the drive of those assisting them and so is that of the designer. A designer must see what is going on in the world today and must reach outside of their comfort zone in order to better adapt to the changing world. Technology will come and go and it is essential to learn the tools that are ever changing and to keep parallel the imagination that develops these tools. Marketing, media, processes of development all are at an all time high and many small businesses do not succeed for many reasons. Research, develop, improve and adapt. ResearchDevelopImprove/Adapt
