Grading Grading will occur on a variety tasks that may include (but not limited to) the following: –tests/quizzes –homework/class work –projects/presentations (individual or group) –labs –final authentic assessments (Lab practicals) Accounts for 8% of the final grade –final exam Accounts for 8% of the final grade –occasional extra-credit

Supplies Binder with pockets and dividers (extremely important to stay organized) –All handouts are hole punched for the students!! Closed-toed lab shoes

Homework policy Homework is given daily –Weekly schedules and hw are posted on First Class at the beginning of each week Late homework will not be accepted!

Lab Policies Labs will be carried out either individually or with lab partner depending upon the activity. Lab partners will change every marking period Labs will be evaluated or assessed based upon timeliness, completion and accuracy Depending upon the lab, labs may be handed in for a group or individual grade.

Late Assignment policy Pertains only to labs and projects!!! Students will have 24 hours to turn in a late assignment for a 50% reduction in credit. After 24 hours the assignment will be assigned a zero!

Extra Help Will be given to anyone that asks. We will decide the best time that fits both the student and teacher’s schedule. It will also always be held the day before a test after school.

Usage of First Class It is important to their class conference and documents folder each night! –Weekly schedules will always be posted as well so that due dates are available at all times! –PowerPoint Notes are also available to download prior to the class they will be discussed (they remain posted all year). –It also may be necessary to turn in assignments via First Class as well (hand-in folder).
