Jaguar By Tyrone
Description Jaguar is the part of the big cat family. Male jaguars usually weigh up to 265 pounds. They may grow up to six feet long. Female jaguars are smaller. They weigh 200 pounds and are 5.4 feet long.
Life Cycle Female jaguars give birth to cubs. The baby cubs are 16 inches long. They are pale yellow with black on their back and sides. Cubs live with their mothers until they are one and a half or two years old. Jaguars live to be 10 or 11 in the wild and to be 20 to 25 in a zoo.
What do jaguars eat? Jaguars hunt for their food. They like to eat deer or cattle. They also like pigs, turtles, monkeys, fish, and birds.
