Water borne diseases : A deadly menace, TODAY –Water born diseases responsible for 80 % of illnesses and deaths in developing world. –90 % of waste water in developing countries is discharge without treatment into rivers and streams & within 25 years, half the world's population could have trouble finding enough fresh water for drinking and irrigation.. –Water-borne diseases like cholera, typhoid fever, diarrhea, hepatitis are preventable diseases if safe drinking water is provided to human kind. –A recent United Nations (UN) conference cited that more than 700,000 people die from consuming contaminated food or water in the Asia-Pacific region. “Water-born diseases take a staggering toll on the world’s population. International aid organizations site the lack of access to clean water as a leading cause of death and disease in developing countries, killing about 5 million people annually and causing 3.3 billion illnesses.” “Water-born diseases take a staggering toll on the world’s population. International aid organizations site the lack of access to clean water as a leading cause of death and disease in developing countries, killing about 5 million people annually and causing 3.3 billion illnesses.”

Water-Related Diseases Although water-related diseases have largely been eliminated in wealthier nations, they remain a major concern in much of the developing world. While data are incomplete, the World Health Organization estimated in the 2000 assessment that there are four billion cases of diarrhea each year in addition to millions of other cases of illness associated with the lack of access to clean water. Since many illnesses are undiagnosed and unreported, the true extent of these diseases is unknown. Water-related diseases are typically placed in four classes: waterborne, water-washed, water-based, and water-related insect vectors. The first three are most clearly associated with lack of improved domestic water supply. Table 1 lists the diseases associated with each class. Table 1: Water-Related Diseases Waterborne diseases: caused by the ingestion of water contaminated by human or animal faeces or urine containing pathogenic bacteria or viruses; include cholera, typhoid, amoebic and bacillary dysentery and other diarrheal diseases. Water-washed diseases: caused by poor personal hygiene and skin or eye contact with contaminated water; include scabies, trachoma and flea, lice and tick-borne diseases. Water-based diseases: caused by parasites found in intermediate organisms living in contaminated water; include dracunculiasis, schistosomiasis, and other helminths. Water-related diseases: caused by insect vectors, especially mosquitoes, that breed in water; include dengue, filariasis, malaria, onchocerciasis, trypanosomiasis and yellow fever.

Tank Purification : The Concept For the first time in Rajasthan, a new, REVOLUTIONARY, state-of-the-art concept, for purifying your water tanks is available.... Satwik Services

This new concept of Drinking Water Tank Purification process involves a totally professional, scientific and hygienic approach to the complete system of Drinking Water Tank purification from start to end. Understanding tank Purification

Why tank purification As Drinking water is the only thing that is consumed directly by humans, and it is stored in tanks. It is essential and compulsory to maintain perfect cleanliness of these so-far- highly- neglected-drinking water tanks. This have been the purpose and mission of founder of SSPL to provide economical quick and accessible service to the masses.

Tank Purification Process Step I: Dewatering & Sludge Removal The dirty water and sludge is removed using special sludge pumps. This is very tedious and labour involving process if done manually.

Tank Purification Process Step II: High Pressure water Jet Cleaning Cleaning of the walls and ceiling of the tanks with our special high pressure rotary jet. Special care is taken for cleaning the ceiling, incidentally has high concentration of germs and bacteria due to the availability of oxygen and dampness arising out of condensation of the water vapour.

Tank Purification Process Step III: Vacuum Cleaning After the sludge is removed the remaining dirt is vacuumed out using a Industrial Vacuum Cleaner making the floor of the tank totally dirt free. The sludge is then taken out of the tank and disposed off to a safe place.

Tank Purification Process Step IV: Anti-Bacterial Spray Treatment at the inside walls and the ceiling by our specially developed anti-bacterial agents. The anti-bacterial agents are thoroughly sprayed in all the nooks and corners of the tank which ensures total sterilisation of the tank.

Tank Purification Process Step V: U V Radiation Treatment of the inside of the tanks with specially developed UV Radiator. It kills any further suspended or floating bacteria that might have remained in the tank.

Tank Purification Process Stage VI: Cleaning of Surroundings We finish off thoroughly cleaning the surrounding which is usually full of dirt, mud and algae.

Conventional Method Conventional Method Tank Purification Method Cleaning by hiring unskilled labour like : Sweeper, Plumber or Labour Involves a Professional, Scientific and Hygienic approach to the cleaning of Drinking Water Tank from start to end. “So called cleaning” by improper methods with unhygienic gear and means e.g., using Brush or a Broom and scrubbing manually the tank walls and floors. Proper cleaning of tank ceiling, walls & floor with Special High Pressure Water Jet which dislodges the layer of dirt and algae & calcinations sticking on the walls and ceiling. Physical Removal of dirty water and sludge using simple bucket, mops and mugs Special sludge pump used to dispose dirty water and sludge The remaining sludge is re- removed by special high Pressure Vacuum Pump. Using of harmful chemicals like Bleaching Powder,KMNO4,Detergent No harmful chemicals. Final treatment includes : Application of Anti-Bacterial Agent & U-V Radiation. Why Tank Purification is Superior ?
