La na gClub 10 th May 2009 St. Moninna’s GAC Killeavy, Co. Armagh

La na gClub – Sunday 10th May Killeavy’s big community day, organised as part of the GAA 125 celebrations, took place on Sunday and after all the effort and planning it was great to see wonderful weather on the day and a marvellous turnout of Killeavy’s members and friends. The day started with a members sponsored walk and the club is very grateful to all those members who really put in a tremendous effort and made this a very successful fund-raiser for the club. Over 400 members turned out for the walk which was a very colourful occasion indeed. Returning to the Memorial Grounds, patrons enjoyed a barbecue, open air disco, GAA skills competitions, bouncy castles, bucking bull and numerous other sideshows – enough to keep the whole family entertained. The star of the show was Sean Brannigan’s magic act that had all the children enthralled. Formal festivities ended with the release of 125 balloons to mark the GAA’s anniversary. Later on, there was music and dancing to the wee hours in the Social Club. All in all a very successful day, blessed by good weather, and enjoyed by all. Roll on 2011 when the Killeavy club will be celebrating its own 125th anniversary.
