Broadsword-One of the earliest medieval swords, the broadsword weighed 3-5 pounds, was inches, and was used for cutting and slicing Great sword- One of the largest used swords, the Great sword was inches, weighed between 6-10 pounds, and was held with two hands. Used in Scotland and also known as the claymore. Long sword- Also had a large handle. Was inches and had a inch hilt
Falchion- Produced large scale by blacksmiths, the falchion had a one edged heavy blade measuring inches and weighed from 1-2 pounds. Preferred by crusaders. Scimitar-Used for slicing attacks, often from horseback. Had a distinct curved blade with a sharp edge. Mainly used by the Saracens and was inches long

Either used as a thrusting weapon or a missile. Had a razor sharp point on the end. Spears either had a short shaft or a long shaft. Was cheap to make and easy to use, making the spear a versatile weapon. Spears Was a sharp spike mounted on a long pole. The shaft measured in-between 10 and 14 feet. Was mainly used against knights on horseback and against horses. Soldiers wielding the pike also carried a dagger and sword because of its inefficiency in close quarters. Pikes A pike fitted with an ax head plus a back spike. Used against soldiers on horseback plus knights wearing plate armor. Battle Axe Large axe used as a close contact weapon or a throwing weapon in some cases. Struck with tremendous force and could dismember people in one blow. Was used in the early Medieval Period. Was mounted on a shaft measuring in-between 1 and 5 feet. War Hammer Large hammer with a spike attached to the back. The hammer was used against foot soldiers and the spike was used to grapple an enemies' armor or the reins of his horse. Like battle axes, the war hammer could be mounted on a long shaft or a short shaft,
