What does the name Gold Mountain tell you about the way Chinese immigrants thought of the United States?

Angel Island Kai and Young The boys follow the same routine day after day as they wait to be questioned by immigration officers.

What kind of life do you think Kai expected to find in Gold Mountain?

It is time for Kai’s interrogation It is time for Kai’s interrogation. The interrogator begins to ask tricky questions. Kai begins to become bold as he answers them. After waiting for days, Kai finds out he will be allowed to join his father.
