“ The SHIVAM GROUP had laid its foundation stone in the year 1999 at Angadpur Industrial Area, Durgapur, West Bengal. Incorporated with the name, SHIVAM INDIA LIMITED, the group began to produce Mild steel/Carbon steel Billets & Blooms along with a Rolling Mill for TMT Rebars & Wire Rod Coils. The MECON LIMITED (A Govt. of India Enterprise) has provided its consultancy to the plant. With its consistent quality, Shivam has a niche market share for its products, the present annual production capacity being 1.2 lac tonnes. The Group, moving towards the backward Integration started an another Greenfield project at Jammuria Industrial Area, Dist. Burdwan, W.B., the company being incorporated as SHIVAM DHATU UDYOG (P) LIMITED (SDUPL). SDUPL has successfully commissioned 2 nos. of 100TPD DRI Kilns (Sponge Iron) in the year Further looking ahead for value addition of steel, the company has set up the latest state-of-art technology bearing manufacturing plant of Hot-Rolled Coils & Strips and ” wide range of ERW Black & Galvanised Tubes & Pipes, with an annual production capacity of 2 lac tonnes. Shivam continues its value chain with designing & manufacturing of Swaged Poles, High Mast Poles & Scaffolding Systems. SDUPL is vigorously engaged in the forth coming Captive Power Plant, for a consistent production with reduced cost.

ERW Black Tubes: The steel tubes obtained by electric resistance welded Hot-Rolled Strip, in long hollow open ended circular section, used for pipe lines, general engineering works, fencing, scaffoldings etc. Tubes are available in varying diameters & wall thickness. GALVANIZED Pipes: Steel tubes/Pipes are immersed in molten Zinc bath, to cover the steel with a layer of Zinc metal. Zinc provides the steel long-term protection corrosion & various environmental hazards. GI Pipes are used for Water, Gas & Steam Pipe line, Electric Poles & Panels etc. STRUCTURAL Tubes: The steel tubes obtained by electric resistance welded Hot-Rolled Strip, in long hollow open ended Square, Rectangular & Triangular cross sections, used basically in construction & fabrication of Industrial shed & building.

Swaged Poles & High Mast: Tubes are designed & fabricated to customised requirements for transmission, distribution & lighting needs. These poles being durable & light weight reduces erection & maintenance costs. Scaffoldings: Theses thick scaffold planks made up of steel tubes, form platforms that hold heavy loads, easy to lift upwards & downward, need simple assembling and considerable life-cycle results cost savings. Conventional wood scaffolding is today replaced by Steel Scaffolding.

Sponge Iron: Direct Reduced Iron, obtained by heating iron ore with coal & dolomite in rotary kilns used for steel making. Billets & Blooms: Semi finished moulded Steel in Square or Rectangular shape, used for Rolling Bars, Rods & Strips. Wire Rods: Round long bar in coils, obtained by rolling heated Billets in Semi Continuous Mill, used for manufacturing binding wire, nails & torkari.

TMT Rebars: Thermo mechanically treated and Self Quenched bars with grooved ribs, used for Construction purpose. Hot-Rolled Strips in Coil: Flat product in coil, obtained by rolling heated Blooms in Reversing/ Continuous merchant mill, used for manufacturing welded tubes & pipes.

“ In the process of manufacturing Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) steel pipe, Hot Rolled Strips of steel are pulled through a series of rollers and cold formed into different cross sectional tubes, the open edges are welded by electric fusion, making perfect and strong butt weld, without filler materials. Weld flash on top and inside (if needed) is trimmed out through carbide tools, then, after water quenching, slight reduction is applied to pipes with sizing rolls to give them accurate outside diameter and are cut to required lengths by saw cutter. The pipe ends are faced and goes for threading (if needed). ” Plain ERW pipes are Dipped in HOT ZINC Metal for Galvanizing in making of GI Pipes & Tubes,threading & socketing are done as per customer requirement and the final products are tagged with batch no. & Date.The pipes goes through hydrostatic testing, Visual & Dimensional inspections, further after end facing & Bundling ERW Black Pipe are ready to dispatch.
