 More effective way to introduce and explain innovations than a piece of paper / oral presentation / powerpoint  Digital pitching video is not a commercial -> Different target audience -> Different content  Start-up companies do not usually have large amounts of money to invest in their videos -> digital pitching video has to be as cost efficient as possible.  Digital pitching video concept is created so that it can be executed with only one person

- Script with storyboard - Interview in the digital pitching video studio - Animation using a cost effective animation program and/or using already filmed material from the customer - Editing

 The most important part is dialogue with the innovator: - Decide when the innovator can give feedback - Keep deadlines  When the script gets accepted and the filming starts there is no going back or the cost of the whole video goes up  The template for the script should be a mix between a traditional script and a storyboard - Faster and easier for the innovator to understand and commit

Interview plays a huge part in the final video -> Much information -> Good impression Chroma Keying ( ->background and the foreground of the image are separated and a new background is added ->chroma keying requires even lighting of the background sheet (green or blue) -> at least two extra lights Why not an authentic location for the interview? -In studio everything is controllable (lighting, sound) -In an authentic location the lighting will always vary so you never know which kind of lighting equipment is needed. -Chroma keying only works with single color background -Saves time and money

 Suitable microphone(s) for an interview ◦ the most practical and cost efficient way is to use wireless clip-on microphones ◦ the other way is to use directional microphones  problem is they need one extra person to use directional microphone on a boom  Recorder if there is not possibility to use the own audio inputs of the camera ◦ The easiest way is using the external audio inputs of the camera ◦ Some cameras have not external audio inputs  must use separate audio recording equipment  In addition: ◦ Headphones ◦ Cables if you don’t use wireless microphones

 Animation is a great way to visualize complicated subjects  Cheaper and easier than filming a live action material  Cost efficient animation tools like GoAnimate are easy to use (goanimate.com/)goanimate.com/  No need for expensive animation softwares

 The right music can help an animation flow, and sound effects can give a solid feeling that adds the illusion of life  In using the music it is extremely important to take notice to immaterial rights ◦ The safest way is to use self-made music ◦ In situations that self-made music is not available, it can be found from the Internet. Some artists are distributing their music freely or for payment or registration (e.g. or

 Chroma keying  Video editing  Sound editing  Innovator gives feedback twice 1. After video edit 2. After sound edit

 Preferred business type is a media production company (start-up or existing)  Good location is for example a local business developing center like Digipolis technology village in Kemi -> many other start-up companies located under the same roof that are in need of a new ways to bring out their ideas-> contacts  Aimed for the start-up companies -> Pitching videos has to be affordable  Media aroduction companies around Lapland have a price range was from 4000€ to over 6000€ for similar videos.  With the digital pitching video concept the price range from 1000€ to 2000€ depending on the amount of material needed for the video. The price would be competitive and affordable.  Production company’s sales must be at least around € in a year for each member in order to be profitable  Considering this, digital pitching videos should only be a part of company’s business
