Select Crop: “Corn” Select Type: “Grain” Select “Non Irrigated”

Type # of Acres: “100” Was it Prevented from Planting? “No” Under Multiple Cropping? “No”

Producer’s Share of Crop – “1.000” APH – Yield History – “120 Bu/Acre” Use same figure for Rate Yield Unit Structure – “Optional”

Make the information the same except “Unit Structure” Change to “Basic”

A Basic Unit includes all insurable acreage of the insured crop in the county on the date coverage begins for the crop year, in which you have 100% crop share or which is owned by one person and operated by another person on a share basis.

An Optional Unit is a subset of a Basic Unit. A Basic Unit may be divided into Optional Units if any of the following are true: Acreage of the insured crop in a county: Spans two or more FSA Farm Serial Numbers (FSN) or Sectional Equivalent Units. Is grown on both irrigated and non-irrigated acreage. Is grown with a combination of organic and conventional. Optional units are not available for crops insured under Catastrophic (CAT) Risk Protection.
