T HE P OTTERS ’ D REAM V ACATION By Vivian H and Neha Y

I NTRODUCTION We created a dream vacation for the Potters family of 4. They visited one city in every time zone, traveled to 9 states. They drove 6,239 miles. Most of all they had an amazing time!  They started in New Jersey  Washington, DC  Chicago, Illinois  Minneapolis, Minnesota  Yellow Stone, Wyoming  San Francisco, CA  Phoenix, Arizona  Dallas, Texas  Philadelphia, Pa  Back to New Jersey

F OOD B UDGET  The Potters wanted to eat at some expensive, average, and cheap restaurants. The grand total was $ for food.  They had $1, left for activities.

A CTIVITIES W HILE G OING  In Washington, DC, they went to the Holocaust Museum and spent $42.  In Chicago, Illinois they went to the movies. They spent another $42 on that.  In Minneapolis, the family went shopping at the Minneapolis Mall and spent $  In Wyoming, they went to Yellowstone. That cost $100.  The last city they visited while going across the U.S. was San Francisco, California. They went to an amusement park and spent $121.

A CTIVITIES C OMING B ACK  When they started coming back, they visited the Grand Canyon in Arizona. That cost $25.  In Texas, they went to an aquarium. They spent $59.08 for admission and $2 at the gift shop.  In Pennsylvania, they saw the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. It was FREE!  Finally, when they came back to New Jersey, they went to the Franklin Mineral Museum. They spent another $42.

SUMMARY In the end, the Potters truly had a wonderful time; even if they had to visit less than 10 states. They had a great time during their family vacation across the country, because first of all, they did visit one city in each time zone, travel to 9 states total, traveled more than 6000 miles and less than 8000 miles. They stayed within a budget of $ a day and ate at different kinds of restaurants every day. But most of all, just being together was the best part!
