Problem Global warming caused by carbon dioxide emissions

Effects Coastal flooding threatening small islands Food insecurity cause by drought Extinction of some animal species Desertification Climate change

Proposal Reducing global warming through carbon sequestration

Aims To reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere To provide pure CO 2 which can be used in Mining and formation of useful substances

Carbon Sequestration This is the artificial capture of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to a reservoir

Proposed Mechanism Carbon dioxide is capture from the air with NaOH NaOH + CO 2  Na 2 CO 3 + H 2 O Na 2 CO 3 is separated from Water Na 2 CO 3 is burnt to about 900°C in a kiln Na 2 CO 3  Na 2 O + CO 2 Na 2 O gotten is then dissolved in water to get NaOH for further capture  Na 2 O + H 2 O  2NaOH Pure CO 2 gotten and: 1.Reacted with Oxides to produce useful substances 2.Compressed and stored for useful purposes 3.Returned to the ground as form of oil recycle
