SAT  Collegeboard.org  Designed to measure aptitude.  Test Content  Critical reading, math and writing.  Costs $52.50  Subject tests $28  GCC Lima Prep Course March 10- April 21 ($99) ACT  Actstudent.org  Designed to measure achievement.  Test Content › English, math reading and science reasoning.  Cost $38 w/o writing, $54.50 with writing.

 Early Scholars Program › Seniors can take classes Senior year on the FLCC campus for both college and high school credit › Scholarships are available (50% tuition)

Colleges select students on the following criteria:  Transcript  SAT/ACT  Extracurricular activities  Recommendations (counselor & teachers)  Interview (when required)  Portfolio (when required)  The application itself (essay, completion of supplemental applications)

 College Application that is one application for over 550 schools  Application available in August - we suggest students begin then - especially if your student is considering Early Decision/Early Action  IB Diploma Candidates are encouraged to complete the common app process in August with Mrs. Prindle  We will have college application workshops for students in the Fall to help as well

 Regardless of how you file your taxes or who is actually planning on contributing toward tuition costs - your financial aid eligibility is based upon HOUSEHOLD INCOME!  All assets are considered part of your available funds for contribution  A loan of $80,000 (with 5% interest) will be paid in 25 years with a monthly payment of $468

 FAFSA - Government aid and student aid program that every college student will need to complete.  CSS Profile - required by private colleges  TAP-NYS Tuition Assistance Plan ($500- $5000 need based aid)*  Pell Grants $500=$5000 (need based aid)*  Need based grants are disbursed for household income that is less than $60,000 annually  Look for a Parent/Student FAFSA Info Open House!
