To make many changes to a group of data in one step, use the Convert Text to Columns Wizard. Excel makes use of a delimiter, or divider, to separate the text.

To make sure cells cells are consistently formatted, use themes, table styles, and cell styles. Lesson 3: Format Data and Content A theme is a predefined set of colors, fonts, and effects you can apply to an entire workbook. Microsoft Office Excel 2007 has 16 built-in themes that you can apply or modify to create your own.

To apply a table style, or predefined set of formats, to a range of data, use the Format as Table command. Lesson 3: Format Data and Content Themes and table styles save time by making formatting changes, such as adding borders and changing font colors, in one step.

A cell style is a set of formatting traits that has been given a name. Lesson 3: Format Data and Content When you apply a cell style, you apply all of the formatting traits of that style.
