Choose one of the following projects. 1. Do one of the WISE science projects on line. Complete all the steps online by 7 June WISE is a simple yet powerful learning environment where students examine real world evidence and analyze current scientific controversies. The current two topics are given with their Student Access Codes.WISE 2. Do a personal research reading project using the on line resources listed on the next slide. If you choose personal research (this choice) then use the format template provided on CobraGraham4.Weebly.com Science-8 Final Science Project Choices

2. Do a personal research reading project using the on line resources listed here: Earth Science ResearchEarth Science Research provides journal articles on earth sciences free of charge. eLibraryeLibrary offers more than 1,500 full-text sources, with improved functionality, and a fun and easy-to-use search interface. The Franklin InstituteThe Franklin Institute provides online learning resources from their Science Museum.

Final Project (Report) 1. Select any scientific topic we have considered in this semester 2. Use on line sources given in this PowerPoint – not Google. 3. Find a recent experiment or research report of interest to you. 4. Design an experiment you can do to go one step farther or extend the research reported. 5. Students may work in groups, but reports must be individually done and unique from all others. 6. “Cut and Paste” is not allowed. 7. Summarize in your own words as if you were explaining to another 8 th grader. 8. Give step by step detail of what you will need and what you will do in your experiment. 9. Assume you have unlimited resources and access to any equipment you need. 10. First Draft Due 31 May 2013 NLT 1100 hours 11. Final Draft Due 7 June 2013 NLT 1500 hours.
