A: British Soldiers, English Colonists and Iroquois vs. French, Huron, and Algonquin How did these alliance lead to conflict? A: European alliances with Native Americans led to involvement in each others conflicts.

Causes of the French and Indian War Generally speaking name the two causes of the French and Indian War. A: Conflicting land claims in the Ohio River Valley. France attacking English settlements. Identify the name of the land that was causing conflict and what was on it that caused both the British and the French to want it. A: Ohio River Valley and Beaver/furs.

Major Effects of the French and Indian War Britain realizes that it had lost control of the colonies due to Salutary Neglect. Great Britain's (England’s) National Debt is doubled because of the war. The British government tries to regain control over the colonies The British government begins creating new laws (acts) Some of these laws are tax laws aimed at forcing the colonists to pay for the French and Indian War and their future protection.

Salutary Neglect The name given to Britain’s unofficial policy toward the colonies. Hands off policy that allowed the colonies develop largely on their own. The colonist learn to govern themselves They do this through their elected assemblies.
