Endangered Oranisms By: Kimberly Moore

Philippine Eagle The Philippine Eagle is among the rarest animal in the world and is facing extinction. The Philippine Eagle originates in The Philippines. I is one of the most beautiful birds but is one of the most Hunted birds of its kind.

Philippine Eagle John Whitehead was the first European to discover the bird. The Philippine Eagle resemble the Mythical Creature “ Griffin.” The Philippine Eagle has a nickname, “ the Monkey Eater.”

Philippine Eagle The complete breeding cycle for the Philippine Eagle last up to 2 years minimum. The eagle was named the “ National Bird” of the Philippines in The Philippine Eagle is one of the three largest birds in the world. The female matures at age five, where the Male matures at age seven.

The Philippine Eagle This species was discovered in 1896 by an English explorer. Life expectancy for an eagle is anywhere around 30 – 60 years of age.

Important Facts Philippine eagles prefer to eat flying lemurs. But occasionally eat small mammals, birds, owls and hornbills, snakes, and monitor lizards. The Forest is the Philippines natural Habitat. Other Eagles hunt the Philippine eagle because of the height Of where they live. The Philippine eagle is affected by Diseases caused by air pollution, over populated environments,

What would happen if there wasn't anymore eagles? If The Philippine Eagle was extinct the forest would change hard and quick and not in a good way. The eagle looks after the forest and keeps it clean and safe for the other animals. Without the Philippine eagle the forest would be a very harsh place for the animals.

How can we increase the number of Philippine Eagles? Scientist are doing everything they can to try and save these birds. The Scientists have hired a special breeding company to breed the birds so that they can increase the number of Eagles. It is slowly but surely coming along. This Company is called The Philippine Eagle Foundation.

How is the world protecting the Philippine Eagle? The Philippine Eagle is being protected by an organization that captures, then later breeds them, before releasing them back into the forest. The organizations name is “ The Philippine Eagle Foundation” And is located in Davao City which is located in the Southern part of the Philippines.

What is causing the Extinction of The Philippine Eagle? Something as simple and awful as Deforestation. Every year Deforestation kills thousands of birds and wild animals in the forest. It has endangered many birds, but the Philippine eagle is the most protected bird and one of the three most loved bird in the world. So how about we work together to try and stop Deforestation.
