IPA Nordic Baltic Meeting Vilnius, , Sandefjord, 29th of May – 31th of May 2015

IPA Nordic Baltic Meeting, 2015, Sandefjord Visions and goals of the IPA Recruitment of new members – challenges Secretary General IPA Lithuania Vytautas Jasiulevičius

IPA is going smoothly Those need the attention of the IEB and especially their liaisons. Werner Busch Dearest friends, I want to take the chance to say thank you again. I was proud that the reports of the Northern sections were complete. Not every member of the IEB was lucky like me. In general we could analyze that in most of the sections in the world IPA is going smoothly. But we also identified problems and challenges in some sections. Those need the attention of the IEB and especially their liaisons. I am happy that your sections don't face serious problems. By exchanging best practices we may increase the success of our work. Short and simple Werner Busch (Sent: Monday, March 23, :31 PM) )

The success of the Organization related to the attitude of its members… I think that it compare to this philosophy > Dr. Margaret Paul The success of the Organization related to the attitude of its members… I think that it compare to this philosophy > "How Can I Know When I'm Caring And When I'm Caretaking?" By Dr. Margaret Paul, November 25, 2014 Knowing the difference between caring and caretaking can sometimes be confusing. Discover how to tell the difference. VJ

Have you sometimes wondered how to know the difference between caring and caretaking? This is the question.. "I'm mindful of my over-giving tendency. But often I don't realize I'm caretaking until after the fact when I feel drained. How can I know (before I take the action) when my giving is really caretaking?"

VJ To know the difference, you need to become aware of a number of issues. Here are some questions you can ask yourself: Am I giving because I think I 'should' in order to be a good person? Am I giving to be seen by others as a good person? Am I giving because I judge myself as selfish if I don't? Am I giving to get something back – appreciation, approval, attention, love, validation, … or sex?

VJ To know the difference, you need to become aware of a number of issues. Here are some questions you can ask yourself: Am I giving to avoid something – disapproval, rejection, being seen as selfish? Do I have some agenda attached to my giving? Am I giving, or giving myself up, to avoid a conflict? Do I feel empty inside and I'm giving to get the other person to fill me up? Am I giving to feel safe in being indispensible to the other person? Am I giving out of fear? If you answer 'yes' to any of these questions, then you are caretaking.

If the answer to the following questions is 'yes' then you are caring. If the answer to the following questions is 'yes' then you are caring. Am I giving for the joy of giving, without any expectations or agenda attached? Do I already feel full inside and I'm giving from this full place? Does the act of giving fulfill me? Am I giving because the person I'm giving to is my responsibility – my child, my elderly parent, or a sick person I've agreed to take care of? Am I giving because it feels right in my gut to give? Am I giving because it makes me feel good about myself to give? Am I giving out of love?

you are caring when you feel full and loving inside While the action of caring and caretaking often looks the same, the energy of it feels totally different to others - depending on your intent. You can know before you take the action by being aware of whether your intent is to control or to love, and by how you feel inside. You are caretaking when you feel fearful, empty or needy inside, and you are caring when you feel full and loving inside.

What we think about it in Lithuania? What we think about it in Lithuania? The IPA does not have professionally prepared, clearly formulated objectives vision, direction. The Statute, rules and documents of the IPA, the objectives of the vision is very formal, and it does not pull people. We see the establishment of legal units (associations, clubs, trade unions) in the Police Stations, it looks attractive, it may attract more funding.

Informal competition pushes the search for new forms of activity that the IPA would become attractive not only for the existing, but also for new members. IPA living more than 60 years has something to offer… you just need to store something that looks different from other similar organizations, it would be attractive for new people and become modernized. Our Organization is truly exceptional, with a distinctive face, touch, our own traditions. This is what others are just trying to create, we have already for a long time we have, just the whole thing needs to be changed, modernized in view of the developments of the time.

What we have to do? What we have to do? It is necessary to activate our activities thinking about new forms of raising, promotion, publish more information about IPA membership, both among the police or other allied employees

We think to set up a cash prize for the creation and implementation of a vision of the IPA (material incentives); Information, announcements of the IPA in the Police Headquarters, police Stations, Intranet; Presentation of the IPA by visiting of Police Headquarters, Police Stations; Members are thinking about the benefits of membership so we may show it, talk about it (a lot of questions are on IPA houses, offers on holiday from a foreign fellow, clearer contacts as a residence in the IPA houses), Gimborn scholarship etc.;

We may every day invite newcomers. Maybe we can set up nomination at the end of the year for a member who made recommendations and then most of the newbies? Invitation of future members to a best events (active employees, members of the future, demonstrate the advantages of the IPA, the prevailing atmosphere, etc.)

Another measures of the IPA publicity Another measures of the IPA publicity: -Interview on the site with the Board members of IPA Lithuanian Section, and other famous members of the Section, mostly active members, the career results (such as Ramunas his working career basically made through the IPA); Create presentations, video about the IPA … Etc., etc.
