Credit Transfer / Recognition of Current Competencies and Prior Learning RMIT University recognises the skills and knowledge you have gained through formal and informal education and training, and work or life experience. If you apply and your application is successful, you may reduce the time taken to complete your program. RMIT University©2012 School of Life & Physical Sciences 2

Credit Transfer / Recognition of Current Competencies and Prior Learning The two main types of recognition available are: Credit transfer – where you are exempted from one or more courses because you have previously completed these courses or equivalent nationally recognised VET courses; See for further informationhttp:// Recognition of prior learning (RPL) – where you gain full credit for one or more courses for skills and knowledge gained through life and work experiences and through non-accredited training. RMIT University©2012 School of Life & Physical Sciences 3

Credit Transfer / Recognition of Current Competencies and Prior Learning If you have previously successfully completed the requirements of a unit of competency or module and you need to demonstrate that this competency has been maintained, you may apply for Recognition of Current Competency (RCC).
