An Interactive Guide to St. Lucia By Angel Hughes and June Marie Hallsworth. With Facts & pictures

Castries Soufriere Roseau The Pitons Where would you like to go? Here is St. Lucia, Which place would you like to see? We have 4 main tourist attractions.

Map Castries is the capital city of St Lucia and is placed at a flood plain and is in fact on a domestic land. It is the home to governments and head offices of both far and near. This city has a protected harbour receiving shipment airlines and ferry boats with cruise ships. Castries has lots of shopping places like La Place Carinage and Point Seraphine. All these restaurants give lots of good food from regional to International. There are quite a few supermarkets and other shopping areas making it the paradise for shopaholics. Castries is well-connected with the other surrounding areas by a bus system and taxi service. One of the Facts about Castries is that the transportation is definitely wonderful.

Map Soufriere is a town that has lovely scenery and is placed on the southwest coast of the Caribbean island of St Lucia. The oldest place on St. Lucia, it was a important trading centre under the French. At its prime in the late 18th century, as many as 100 sugar and coffee plantations came in the time. It has a very shallow bay that is very, very, very popular for fishing.

Map Roseau is a place where lots of banana trees grow and other crops, but banana trees are really popular. Because there are so many banana trees, there are many small shacks where bananas are sold to make money. It is between Anse La Raye and Marigot Bay.

Map The most visited and the most pictured landmarks in St Lucia are, without doubt, the Pitons. The gigantic twin Volcanoes of Gros Piton and Petit Piton almost rule the landscape of the west coast of St Lucia. Gros Piton stands 797 metres above sea level and it's smaller twin Petit Piton stands 750 metres above sea level. Close to the town of Soufriere in the southwest of the island. The Pitons, which are now dormant volcanoes (they don’t erupt anymore), are one of the most famous landmarks in the whole Caribbean islands.
