University of West Florida Partners with National Flight Academy Dr. Pam Northrup UWF Board of Trustees Meeting December 14, 2012

What makes the NFA unique is its partnership with the University of West Florida –The partnership with UWF began over 15 years ago with the NFA mission in mind –Curriculum development in STEM education including aviation inspired learning – UWF created the education content of NFA’s AIR program at Ambition

THE PARTNERSHIP UWF will lead Registrations Fee Payments Onsite check-in Teacher &instructional staff selection and training Ongoing Assessment and data collection NFA will lead All marketing and sales All facility responsibilities All building level contracts (food services, linens, security, insurance, medical)

ALSO PROVIDED Space on the second floor as educational Sign on designated space with “UWF Education Office” or similar. Space available to post opportunities for student participants about UWF programs. Ability to offer college-level courses in the facility through a program UWF is developing now (AirMester Program) Ability to offer and charge for college credit to high school students participating in summer events.

ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES Partnership with TEQGames at Universal Studios to expand Aviation Classrooms in middle and secondary schools with PAX River High Schools funded through NAWCAD and Patuxent River Group Partnership Kitsap County, Washington through DoD funding Aboard U.S.S. Yorktown Galway Education Center in Ireland – UWF will collaborate to develop all curriculum, all educator training and support

UWF is collaborating to build print-based materials to support experiences in museums and classrooms through “LogBooks”

Formal signing of partnership agreement to be held early 2013
