The graph of a quadratic function is a parabola. Base Graph - xy Vertex Axis of Symmetry

Graphing Parabolas Point Pattern Starting at the vertex Over 1, up 1 from the previous points Over 1, up 3 from the previous points Over 1, up 5

A parabola is symmetrical (it can be folded in half and one side lies directly over top of the other side). The axis of symmetry of a parabola is the reflection line that maps the parabola onto itself. For, the axis of symmetry is (vertical line) opens up  the vertex is the lowest point. (The minimum value is the y-coordinate of the vertex) has a minimum value of 0.
