General Background University of Prishtina was established in It is one the two Public Institutions of Higher Education in Kosovo. Total number of students is around 35, Faculties and 3 Faculties of applied Sciences. Total number of academic staff is 2,000.

The Bologna Process at the University The implementation of reforms at the University based on the Bologna Declaration started as of 2001/2002 academic year The use of ECTS crediting system was also established as a way of accumulation of learning credits.

Structure of the Faculty of Economy It has four Departments ▫Department of Management and Informatics ▫Department of Economics ▫Department of Finance, Banking and Accounting, ▫Department of Marketing

Study System (3+2+3) System is Based on two main cycles: ▫Undergraduate / Bachelor Degree:  ECTS with first graduates in 2005 ▫Post-Graduate Studies ▫Master Degree:  ECTS ▫Doctoral Degree:  A new regulation on doctoral Studies that is based on the recommendations of the Bologna experts has been already approved.

Bachelor Degree It is a three year system and upon collection of 180 ECTS credits, the students earns a professional degree of Economist 60% of the modules are compulsory 40% are elective

Department of Management and Informatics The Department has only one course which has the same name as the Department The head of the Department is Prof.dr Muhamet Mustafa

Objectives of the Course To offer modern theoretical and practical knowledge from the field of Management and informatics which would enable graduates to manage businesses, public services and a wide spectrum of institutions. By interrelating the achievements in the field of informatics and management to offer broad possibilities for students To equip students with modern knowledge and skills, which are compatible with the needs of the market economy To offer sufficient number of compulsory modules that would provide the students with basic knowledge from the field of management and informatics

Objectives of the Course To offer sufficient number of elective modules that would provide the students with the knowledge in which they have more affinity. The modules offer possibilities to students to be equipped with theory, methods and technical as well as practical skills for a modern management, in harmony with the advanced study programs.

Employability of Students Graduates should be prepared and equipped to successfully work in: ▫Business Activities ▫Management of the Modern Systems ▫Management of Private and Public Enterprises ▫Management of Banks and Institutions ▫Research Institutions, Consulting Institutions and Various Supporting Businesses

Post Graduate Studies Master studies last for two years and students have to earn 120 ECTS Four semesters – 4 * 60 ECTS Requirements ▫Average Grade 7.50 ▫Good command of English language (because most of the literature is in English)

Objectives of the Course To prepare students with regards to the theoretical and practical aspects which would enable them to: ▫Perform managerial work. ▫Managerial development work. ▫In particular to be equipped with skills for developing their private initiatives. The program is based on similar profiles from European, American and Neighboring Countries Universities.

Entrepreneurship Module Objective is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge on: ▫Nature of small business and entrepreneurship ▫Philosophy of entrepreneurship and understanding of small business sector ▫Entrepreneurship ideas and innovations ▫Relations between Entrepreneurs, Owners and Managers ▫Business Organization Options ▫Management and Small Business ▫Entrepreneurship Strategies and Management ▫Business Plans

Entrepreneurship Module Objective is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge on: ▫Financial Aspects of Business ▫Development and Growth of Businesses ▫Business Incubators ▫Female Entrepreneurs ▫Business Environment and Electronic Business (E-Business) ▫Business Culture, ethics and social responsibility ▫Entrepreneurship with Kosovo in special context ▫Other Issues in the Modern Entrepreneurship Literature is Foreign (in English)

PhD Studies The Program includes some organization experiences from Staffordshire University, UK There has been very close cooperation going on for several years with the Tempus Program During the compilation of these programs there have been taken into account experiences of other countries (Staffordshire University, Free University of Brussels, University of Antwerp, Växjo University and University of Ljubljana)

PhD Studies Duration is three years Research Methods is compulsory exam Other exams modules may have to be taken if deemed necessary for candidates Students earns degree upon successful completion of the disertation
