Asian Women Network Reports By: Pastor Lucy Lie Tjioe Lan – Coordinator

Mission 21 Asian Women Conference Asian Women Conference was held from 18 – 20 April 2006 in Indonesia. This conference were attended by 20 delegates from Mission 21 partners churches. The meeting elected me from Basel Christian Church of Malaysia (BM) to succeed outgoing Women coordinator Rev. Chua Yen Yen.

1. Women Leadership Training This Leadership Training attended by 100 participants was held on 1st – 4th June 2006 at Sabah Theological Seminary, Kota Kinabalu which hosted by Basel Christian Church of Malaysia BM (BCCM BM). The participating partner churches are BCCM, PCS, GKPI and also other denominations in Malaysia such as Sarawak Anglican Church, Sabah Methodist Church, Sengoi Methodist Church. 2. Fair Trade Seminar This was held in BCCM Camp Sabah from 1st – 11th August These seminar attended by partner churches from BCCM BM, PCS and GKPI. The facilitators were Ueli Knecht from Mission 21 and Peritno I Dasar from GKE. This seminar has developed participant’s skill in handicraft and at the same time exchanging view of each other cultures and concepts.

3. Visitation and consultation with PCS Women ’ s Exco  On 25th August 2006 I visited Kudat to discuss and sharing women ’ s concerns and issues which relevant to their situations and also for Asian women fellowship. I also visited Tinangol Handicraft centre. Pastor Lucy with PCS women’s ExcoPastor Lucy visited PCS Women’s Handicraft Training Centre

4. Female Theologian Data I have collected data of female theologian within partner churches in Asian. I am still waiting from others not listed here. P CT, TTM, BCCM, PCS, GKP, GKE, GKI Papua, GKPI.

5. Liturgy I have prepared a liturgy for Worship Service for Peace in Asia which includes monthly prayer calendar with the theme of peace. These prayer items are from partner churches and could be use in their prayer meeting during July 2007– June 2008

Planning For Year 2007 (a) Meeting and Visitation with GKP & CCI. On 13 February 2007, I held a meeting with GKP and CCI in Indonesia. Purpose of this meeting: –Sharing of these partner ministries, issues arises in their encounter with women in their perspectives ministries. –Visit women group –Meeting with organizing committee for Rumah Pendamaian. (b) Training of handling victims & Crisis centre management (Rumah Pendamaian) This program will be held in July at Wisma Kinasih, Jakarta. The purpose of this training is to prepare human resources that have ability and skill to handle client and to be effective and professional manager. This program will be hosts by GKP and CCI. Expected participants are 35 people consist of: GKP: 15 people Mission 21 Partners in Indonesia & Sabah : 20 people ( ten Churches)

(c) Exchange Program I encourage partner churches to exchange program for the purpose of sharing, learning from each other, and at the same time such program could empower, motivates and enrich our mutual relationship within Mission 21 partner churches. Exchange program could be done between: Indonesian churches (CCI, GMIM, GKP, GKI Papua, GMIST, GKPI &GKE) Malaysian churches (BCCM & PCS) Hong Kong (TTM) & Taiwan (PCT) Korea (PCK,PROK) & UCCJ (d) Network through website. ( ) I will collect information of activities and concerns of partner’s churches to put up on our website. This will be a good channel of a wide network between us.
